A time for Spring-cleaning

From Marie’s pen ….

29 March was the first Sunday in lockdown in New Zealand. Early in the morning as I was coming to, I felt my heart rise within me and connect with the Father in a deep level of complete-heart worship. Everything in me reached out to him with an urgent necessity as though my life depended on it.  Then, I arrived at the place of peace and quiet, of complete fulfilment, the only place I belong. Daddy’s heart.

All my life I have always longed for the carousel of life to come to a standstill, if only for a minute in time to enable me to get off and catch my breath. Many times, I wished the world would stop for one day, to enable my emotions to catch up on life and to have the freedom to follow my own schedule, if only for one day. One day, a mere one day where my life was not dominated and ruled by a ticking clock and expectations dictated by life and circumstances.

Then it dawned on me. The world has come to a standstill. The world in New Zealand has come to a for 4-week halt. We have been given a window of opportunity to prepare for what God has install for us.

The phrase “it is time to spring-clean” came to me. Before you ask, I know it is autumn in New Zealand however, in Israel it is spring. From the first day of Nissan to the fourteenth day of Nissan frantic preparations are made in the Jewish household to celebrate Passover. The Mother methodically cleans the entire house to ensure that there is no leaven in the house. Hence the term spring-clean.

It dawned on me that we have been granted a window of time to spring clean and prepare our hearts for this coming season. Now  is the  time to open the doors of our hearts and to let the sunlight (Son’s light) stream in. Malachi 4:2 But unto you who revere and  worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and beams, and  you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy. We must open the windows of our souls and let the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit blow away all the smog, cobwebs, pollution and stale air, anything that can cloud our spiritual vision and focus.

It is time to unpack and clean out our storage cupboard. This is the cupboard in which we store all our painful emotions caused by unpleasant life experiences. These emotions include offences, rejections, disappointments, broken dreams secrets…… We use this storage cupboard because we do not always have the time, opportunity, strength or know how to deal with everything at the then present time. We place these emotions on a shelf in the cupboard with a promise attached to attend to them soonest, close the cupboard doors only to forget about it.  Now is the time to unpack and empty this cupboard and to allow the Holy Spirit to deal with every one of these emotions and experiences and to resolve them. Do not merely look at these items, dust them off and put them back on the shelf. Now is the time to deal with it once and for all.  It is time to empty this cupboard and to make space for God and what He wants to place there. God will only occupy the space that you allocate to Him.

We are in a season of yet a deeper cleansing, a deeper sanctification, a call to a higher level of holiness. Many prophetic words have been released during this time instructing us to draw closer to God. I personally felt prompted to ask God to turn my heart inside out. Pop it open! Expose anything and everything that is in my heart. Strip, clip, prune and dig around the roots. Take a small brush and brush out everything in my heart that is unnecessary and that is not of Him. Clean every nook and cranny. Brush out everything that might possibly hinder me from walking in that that God is bringing forth at this time.  I felt a call to break up the fallow ground of my heart.
Hosea 10:12 Amp. “Sow for yourselves according to righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God); reap according to mercy and loving-kindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, to inquire for and of Him, and to require His favour, till He comes and teaches you righteousness and rains His righteous gift of salvation upon you.

Counting 50 days from Passover is Pentecost. In Exodus 19 we read the account of the 1st Pentecost. In Exodus 19:10 God gave Moses instructions to prepare and sanctify the people for a very special meeting. On the 1st Pentecost the God of the universe came down on Mount Sinai and met with Israel, His chosen people.

In Luke24:29 Jesus gave an instruction to His disciples.
Luke 23:49 NKJ.  “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high”.
The disciples had to wait in Jerusalem in order to receive the Promise, The Holy Spirit. In Acts 2:1-3 we see the account of the 2nd Pentecost. Here again God came down in the person of The Holy Spirit to meet with His people

We are in a special year, the year 5780 (Hebraic calendar) or 2020 (Gregorian calendar). The beginning of a new decade. A new beginning.  Again, God has given His people instructions through His prophets telling them to draw closer to Him during this time in lockdown, this window of opportunity. He has placed a desire in our hearts for a higher level of holiness and sanctification in order to increase the capacity of our hearts.  A desire to spend time in His Word and to get a yet deeper understanding of Him and His ways. To pray in the Spirit and plant the seeds given by Him in the field of our lives. To allow our hearts to praise and worship Him in the same manner we did before we came down to earth.  To break up the fallow ground in our hearts.

Why all this? I believe we are about to step into the 3rd Pentecost on this coming Pentecost. An appointment with God that is beyond what we can ever dream or imagine. This is the reason why we have been granted a window of opportunity to prepare our hearts. Grab this opportunity as though your life depends on it. Become a co-worker and allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify you and bring you to this greater level of holiness. Prepare your heart to usher in and manifest this new outpouring of God in your life. Now is your appointed time, your “Kairos” time. Do not let this life changing opportunity pass you by. Prepare your heart at whatever the cost.

God has given you 3 keys to usher in this glory:
– Knowledge of God’s Word and His Ways
– Praying in the spirit
– Heart worship

Use them!
Now is the time to worship Him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24).
Now is the time to step into the New of God, the new that is to be revealed on the 3rd Pentecost.
